I lifted the bonnet today (dunno why; it's a mystery to me under therePosted Image) and I noticed at the front lip of the lid that there are 2 rubbery plastic stoppers. One of them was coming detached, and I noticed it was not symmetrically placed with the other one.
Are they fitted at the last step of assembly to ensure a good fit for the bonnet?
The adjustable stops are still there on the inner wing (fender) pointing upwards, so is this an addition on new models to resolve complaints about wobbly bonnets?
I moved the loose one to the corresponding place as the non wobbly one, but have I messed things up?

Do you mean at the leading edge (grill end) of the bonnet, about quarter thick and about the size of a 2p? if so they have always been there mine fell off way back in 2008 soon after I got the car so I stuck them on with a dab of super glue.

That's the fellas Bill. I can't say I noticed them on the 2.7, but maybe that was because they weren't falling off, or had already fallen off!
The bonnet seems secure and not wobbly, so I'm not too bothered. If the stopper looks wobbly again I'll stick it back on with some double-sided carpet tape, so I can reposition it if needs bePosted Image

Yes I had them Mike and they did not last long, they didn't seem to line up with anything, I thought they might be something to aid assembly rather than being functional

Had a quick look at these today mine are not stuck on they have a little tit on them that plugs into a hole in the underside of the bonnet.
