Hi Guys,

well, after much searching and considering, the next GDO is sorted, it is on the 26th August, it is not a Jaguar event this time, give that a break until next year, this time our friends at PRODRIVE have spaces available for us to visit there factory for a guided tour of near enough everything.

details are

During the detailed tour we cover every part of Prodrive’s operation and give a unique insight to the workings of the business.

What the tour includes:

>> Coffee and welcome in the Prodrive heritage centre where you can view race and rally cars from Prodrive’s 25 years in world motorsport

>> Rally car transmission and engine build and dynos - to see what it takes to make an £80,000 gearbox

>> The workshops where we build the Subaru rally cars and the Aston Martin GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4 and the current Gulf liveried LMP1 sports cars and its V12 engines

>> Our advanced manufacturing facilities where we fabricate and machine all the parts which go into our cars

>> Opportunity to visit our new shop, to buy the merchandise we produce on behalf of Aston Martin Racing, McLaren F1, Williams F1 and the Subaru World Rally Team, as well as Prodrive performance wheels and parts and special items of memorabilia not available anywhere else. All these are available at specially discounted prices to our guests

the opportunity to see

1984 Porsche 911 SCRS – Group B rally car
1986 MG Metro 6R4 – Group B rally car
1990 BMW M3 - Group A rally car
1992 Subaru Legacy RS – Group A rally car
1996 Subaru Impreza 555 – Group A rally car driven by Colin McRae
1998 Honda Accord Super Touring Car – BTCC car
2000 Ford Mondeo Super Touring Car – BTCC winning car
2000 Subaru Impreza WRC – Burns’ safari winning car
2000 Subaru Impreza P1 – road car
2003 Ferrari 550 GTS Maranello – Le Mans winning car
2004 BAR F1 car – driven by Jenson Button
2006 Prodrive P2 – road car
2008 Aston Martin DBR9

Obviously some cars may be out on loan at the time, but a good selection will be available.

Now the bit no one likes, this is a costable tour, it is £17 per person, it will be at 17:00 (5pm) at PRODRIVE'S factory located on the M40 (post code OX16 3ER)

Payment has been requested by PRODRIVE a couple of weeks before the event and a deadline of the end of the month therefore must be made, i have secured maximum places but need to advise numbers before hand, Unfortunately once payment has been made to PRODRIVE i cant refund the money as i will be paying it myself before hand.

If you want to come please put your name down in posts below, and either myself or another MOD will collate them into one post, I for one am really looking forward to this.

Jon, is there any lower age limit on this? I was thinking of bringing Duze junior but only if it's OK with the venue. He's nearly 9 but is very well-behaved, having been routinely thrashed since birth for any minor infringements....... ;)

Hi,

Unfortunately with Bentley they are unable to "accommodate visitors under the age of 14"

Sorry about that. Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

I will be driving down from the M5,M42 onto the M40
